Roll Top Desk
A roll top desk and chair combo was on our bucket list of resto mod projects to pursue. Finding this pair in a pick, we set out to restore them back to original functionality with a twist. Reinforcing joints, replacing warped oak panels and adding our own brand of flair, this desk now graces Brandy’s office.
Aficionados of roll top desks know that these desks contain nooks, crannies and many unique hidey holes and this desk did not disappoint. Built during the height of prohibition, this 1920’s gem has a secret storage perfect for hooch or other valuables.
Originally a caned chair, the aging wicker seat bottom was upgraded to house a steel seat containing cane-like properties. Held in place by rolled copper tube, we think this upgraded caning will allow for years of enjoyment.
